If you have short, straight hair and are struggling to find ways to give them volume or style them in a way that won't damage them, then these tutorials for no-heat curl curls for short hair are just the thing you need!

It's easy enough to get beautiful, bouncy, curly hair with a curling wand or a flat iron. But that's not really a practical solution if you're someone who would like to have curly hairevery day! You'll just end up with damaged, frizzy hair that'll take ages to go back to normal – if ever.

Thankfully, there are countless heatless hair-curling methods that you can use to achieve the curls you want and you'll never need to approach your hair with a hot tool again.

And what's even better, these styling methods are best used on damp hair which needs to be left to dry overnight, they will take you no more than 5 minutes – if that – to do, and you'll wake up the next morning to gorgeous, bouncy curls.

Scroll down to see six ways in which you can get no-heat curls for short hair:

Headband Method

Using a headband is one of the best ways to get no-heat curls for short hair because it will give you voluminous, sleek curls with almost no hassle.

To curl your hair using this method you'll need to start with slightly damp hair – hair that's too wet will not dry or hold the curl.

Next, place a headband around your hair as a hippie would, and take a section from the front of your hair and loop it around the headband. Then take another section, combine it with the one you just looped through, and loop it again.  Continue like this until you get to the back of your head and then repeat on the other side.

Loop the hair that's left hanging at the back around the headband until it's all wrapped and secure. You can add a few bobby pins to the back to make sure the hair won't unwrap.

To make sure it won't come undone at night, you could wrap a scarf around your head as you sleep.

Twist Buns

The twist buns method to curl hair is probably the easiest and will give you curls of any shape you want, from loose waves to tight spirals, depending on how many twists you use.

Again, you start with damp hair and, depending on how tight you want your curls to be or how long your hair is, you section them off.

Then you take a section of hair and start twisting them away from your face, and then wrap them into a bun and secure it with an elastic or pins. Do the same to the other sections.

Leave it on overnight, and then once you take the buns out in the morning, separate the curls and gently comb through them with your fingers.

Twist Braiding

This one will take a little bit more skill, specifically, braiding skills.

You will need to separate your damp hair down the middle into two sections and start with two strands from one section at the top of your head. Twist those strands around each other, and before you go for another twist, just add hair to both strands andtwist. Then repeat: add hair, twist, add hair, twist and then when you have no more hair to add, just twist to the end and secure it with an elastic. Repeat the same to the other section.

Leave it out the next morning, finger comb through it, and you're good to go.

Pin Curls

Another great way to get no-heat curls for short hair is by using pins – this will also give you more control over how you want your curls to turn out.

What you do is: take small sections of (damp) hair, wrap them loosely around your finger, and then use a pin to secure it to your head. Then wrap a scarf around your head to make sure they won't come undone and leave them overnight.

In the morning, take the pins out and enjoy your curls.

Spiral Curlers

There are also different types of curlers you can use to get heatless waves, like foam or bendy rollers, but the spiral curlers are, in my opinion, best suited for short hair. There are different kinds of curlers you can get at Amazon, a beauty supply shop, or just your local dollar store.

They look like this and have different lengths depending on your need.

French Braiding

And finally, no-heat curls or waves can be as easy as braiding your hair. French braiding can be a bit tricky to master, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be unstoppable. Okay fine, it's not that dramatic, but other than getting your hair out of your face and looking cute, a french braid will also give you pretty, wavy curls.
